Her work has involved the study and training of elephants, zebra, antelope and dogs, and her stud, comprising the herd of horses studied for Horse Watch, have been variously located on the Isle of Mull, on Exmoor and, since 2003, in a mountainous region of rural France. Actively engaged in equine research for the past thirty years and an energetic campaigner for more natural horse care, management and training methods, Marthe is also a qualified riding instructor, trains and rides high school and dressage, works horses in harness and has competed internationally in endurance riding.
